In march 2013, DESIGN, POVERTY, FICTION will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1973 oil crisis, which marks the beginning of the permanent crisis in the western countries. As for now, nothing indicates that the crisis might come to an end. It is, therefore, essential to reimagine poverty, whether to adapt ourselves to it, due to a lack of alternatives, or to use it as a pretext for experiences. En mars 2013, Design, Poverty, Fiction célèbre le 40e anniversaire du premier choc pétrolier (mars 1973), qui marque l’entrée des pays occidentaux en crise permanente. Design, Poverty, Fiction expose des expériences de modes de vie, des hypothèses politiques et des dispositifs artistiques qui utilisent la pauvreté comme un matériau de projet : Mechanical Turk, néo-primitivisme, culture punk, hard discount, vie dans le désert, potlatch, discours contradictoires de l’aide humanitaire, salariat vs. aides sociales…
